Even though we had a fabulous time in the Balkans, it was an amazing feeling landing back into Western Europe. We based ourselves in the small, picturesque village of Bacharach to explore the Rhine valley. We enjoyed a short cruise down the Rhine and stopped at some other beautiful villages including St Goar where we climbed the Rheinfels Castle for some nice views! It was amazing floating down the river, on every turn, another castle on the hill emerged. A picture perfect day!
